Heaven After Hell Rescue

We are an animal rescue that believes in giving shelter animals a voice and happy home. We take in unwanted or abused dogs and cats from high kill shelters. We prepare them for adoption and find the perfect match for the adoptive family and the animal.

Volunteering

HAHR volunteers are the backbone of our rescue. We come from many different backgrounds (nurses, realtors, office workers, retirees, homemakers, students, etc) and we all share a common concern for our animal friends. Our volunteers support our mission to give adoptable, shelter animals the second chance that they deserve.

There are many different volunteer opportunities available including:

• Adoption Events - We host adoption events every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM. We need help working with the animals during the event to help
them find their match to a new forever home.
• Foster Care - Foster Care volunteers agree to accept a homeless, adoptable, shelter animal into their homes and provide day-to-day love, care, socialization,
and training for the HAHR animal.
• Transportation - Volunteers are needed to transport foster and shelter animals to and from special events and to vet appointments.
• Help at Facility - Our facility houses around 60 animals at any given time. We always need help during both days and evening, to let the animals out, feed them,
                             and perform cleaning of kennels.

It is not necessary for volunteers to have previous experience with animals in a veterinary or shelter setting. Initial and ongoing training is provided, allowing even inexperienced volunteers a way to gain competency in various animal care and training.
